Digitized MS Newspapers

The MS Department of Archives and History received a grant last year to digitize 100,000 pages of Mississippi newspapers!

The digitized newspapers will be freely available on the Library of Congress Chronicling America site.

So far the following newspapers are available: 
Macon Beacon ( Noxubee County, MS) - new!
Woodville Republican (Wilkinson County, MS) - new!

The Memphis Appeal (Memphis, TN)
includes coverage of northern Mississippi

New Additions to McComb!

We now own three scrapbooks (donated by Mr. Tommy Parker)

McComb High School Football, the 1940s (Volumes 1 & 2)

and 

McComb Sports and Dixie Youth Scrapbook  (mostly 1940s)

These scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings and lots of pictures! Enjoy this bit of McComb's history!
